After combining forces and underwriting over 100 potential multifamily investments, they discovered a severe shortage of quality deals with the solid returns they required. They decided to pivot and look at the self-storage asset class, where they found high-quality deals with deep value-add components. They began putting properties under contract and entering the due diligence phase, where most deals die. Fortunately, two assets passed the test, and they closed on both in early 2024. With a solid body of knowledge in self-storage, they are confident in their ability to achieve great success and deliver exceptional value to their investor partners within this sector.
Margot Kennedy has a rich history in real estate spanning over 30 years in a variety of asset classes. Having managed a small property management company as well as her own rental properties, which included extensive rehabs, she honed her management skills in the private sector. She also served as Comptroller and Capital Project Coordinator for a senior housing operator based in Washington, DC. Then she transitioned to the shopping center management industry, where she excelled as Senior Accountant and later as Specialty Leasing Coordinator, managing temporary leasing for multiple shopping centers. Margot has been a licensed real estate agent in Maryland for over 20 years and has significant experience. She now specializes in identifying and evaluating commercial real estate investment opportunities.
Christy Brock complements this with her strong financial acumen and strategic vision. Holding an MBA with a concentration in finance from Cornell University and an economics degree from UC Berkeley, Christy has a keen eye for profitable ventures. After Cornell, she served as an asset manager for high-net-worth individuals at the third-largest bank in the USA. She then launched and ran a real estate and mortgage brokerage, demonstrating her entrepreneurial spirit and expertise. She held a real estate broker license in California for over 20 years and has been a lifelong real estate investor. Christy brings a deep understanding of market dynamics and investment strategies to wiicre.
